NOTICE OF CAUCUS
FOR FILLING VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF TOPEKA TOWN COUNCIL
TOWN OF TOPEKA, LAGRANGE COUNTY, STATE OF INDIANA

Pursuant to INDIANA CODE 3-13-11-3 et seq., I Robert Murphy, as Chairman of the LaGrange County Republican Central Committee, Hereby state as follows:

1. That the undersigned, by virtue of his office as the elected Chairman of the LaGrange County Republican Central Committee, shall serve as the Chairman of the caucus to fill the Vacancy in the office of Town Council Member At-Large, Town of Topeka, Clearspring and Eden Townships, LaGrange County, State of Indiana.

2. That the caucus shall be held on the 6th day of October, 2007 at 9:00am at the Topeka Town Hall located at 124 E Lake St, Town of Topeka, County of LaGrange, State of Indiana.

3. That the members of the Caucus must:
a. Be a member of the same political party that elected or selected the person who vacated the office to be filled.
b. Be the precinct committeeman of a precinct in which voters were eligible to vote for the person who vacated the office to be filled at the last election conducted or permitted for the office; and
c. If the precinct committeeman is an appointed committeeman, he or she must have been a precinct committeeman continuously for a period beginning thirty (30) days before the date the vacancy occurred.

4. All declarations of candidacy must be filed with the undersigned as Chairman of the Caucus at least seventy-two (72) hours before the time fixed for the caucus.
